Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is urging support for Kylian Mbappe amid struggling start to life at the club.
The French international of Cameroonian descent missed a penalty when Liverpool inflicted a 2-0 win over the Spanish giants on Wednesday night.
Speaking after the game, Ancelotti urged the club fans to exercise patience for Mbappe as he adapt to life at the club.
“It has often happened that strikers find it difficult to score, and it frustrates them. The cure for this is patience. Be patient, because right now he’s going through a tough period, especially today after missing the penalty. We need to support him. Soon everything will be fine”
“The idea is to keep things simple, not complicated. But this will pass. You can’t blame a player for missing a penalty. Kylian has scored many penalties, and sometimes you miss. Keep working, keep fighting, and keep pushing, because this moment will pass”
“He is working well and adapting well. Everything is fine. Right now, things are not going the way he wants… but that’s okay. You need to be patient because he is an extraordinary player,” he said.
