Real Madrid begin La Liga campaign as Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s key fixtures
European and Arab football returns to full speed on Saturday, 22 August 2026, with Real Madrid starting their La Liga campaign, Bayern Munich meeting Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup and a full programme of domestic league matches across the region.
Four Egyptian Premier League matches are scheduled, beginning at 17:00. Assiut Petroleum face Suez Petrojet, with the game shown on On Sport, while Tala’ea El Gaish take on El Mokawloon El Arab in a fixture broadcast on On Sport Max.
At 20:00, Pyramids travel to Ghazl El Mahalla in a match available on On Sport. At the same time, Al Masry meet Smouha, with coverage on On Sport Max.

In Spain, Real Madrid begin their league campaign at home to Espanyol at 22:30. The match will be screened on beIN Sports 1, with Ali Saeed Al Kaabi on commentary.
Nice face Lorient in Ligue 1 at 21:45, with Mohamed Abdelmonem expected to be involved for Nice. The game will be shown on beIN Sports 6.
Inter open title defence against Monza
The new Serie A season starts with defending champions Inter hosting newly promoted Monza at 19:30. The match will be available on StarzPlay and Shahid.
