RC Strasbourg reach agreement with Stade de Reims to sign Cameroonian teenager Valentin Atangana
French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg have reached an agreement with Stade de Reims to sign Cameroonian midfielder Valentin Atangana.
Sources have indicated that Strasbourg are set to proceed to sign the 19-year-old for a fee of €15 million.
According to So Foot, Reims had previously rejected three offers from the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side before finally accepting Strasbourg’s latest bid. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that both clubs have struck a compromise over the deal.
Atangana who represents France at U21 level, attracted strong interest this summer, with AS Roma, Al-Ahli, and Galatasaray all monitoring his situation.
However, Strasbourg have won the race for his signature, with the transfer expected to be finalised after the teenager completes his medical next week.
The young midfielder’s arrival will be Strasbourg’s marquee signing of the summer as they look to strengthen their squad for the new Ligue 1 campaign.
