The manager of RC Lens, Will Still has criticised Angolan striker M’Bala Nzola for a display of poor attitude and ego.
The experienced forward is on loan at RC Lens from Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina. Although his services were acquired with a lot of expectations, the former Spezia star has failed to perform.
Recounting a clash with M’Bala Nzola over his poor attitude in an interview with Ligue 1’s media channel, Will Still stressed that the Angolan must always put the team above everything else.
“I would have preferred today [M’Bala Nzola] you came on, scored a goal, and then gave me the finger twenty seconds after the goal. Rather than coming onto the pitch, pulling a face, and not wanting to run and making such a big deal.
“The team needs M’Bala Nzola to score goals… The team doesn’t need your ego, your bad energy. If you have bad energy to take out, take it out on me, no problem. I’m ready to take it. It’s not pleasant, it’s not cheerful, but you must always put the team and the group before all of that,” Will Still said.
He was recounting a distasteful encounter with M’Bala Nzola after the strike was substituted in RC Lens’ French Ligue 1 fixture against Le Havre on January 12.
Nzola who has been in poor form in recent months will be eager to regain his form at the end of the March international break.
