RB Leipzig emerge as Mohamed Amoura’s next Bundesliga destination

Mohamed Amoura is expected to leave VfL Wolfsburg for RB Leipzig, with negotiations described as being in their final stages by the Algeria international’s agent.

Amoura has decided to end his time with VfL Wolfsburg despite still having a contract with the club. The forward wants to remain in Germany, where he has established himself in the Bundesliga, and has reached an agreement in principle with RB Leipzig over a move.

The remaining details of the transfer are still being discussed. Amoura must complete a medical before he can sign officially for the Bundesliga club, but the negotiations between the player, Wolfsburg and Leipzig have progressed significantly.

The player’s representative confirmed to Maghreb-Foot that RB Leipzig is the destination Amoura has chosen. The agent also expressed confidence that the discussions would be concluded successfully.

However, the transfer has not yet been formally completed. Wolfsburg’s hierarchy are reluctant to lose their leading scorer and continue to protect the club’s interests during negotiations.

That stance means the final terms of the deal have not been made public. Amoura’s representatives have also chosen not to disclose further information while the talks remain unresolved, preferring to wait until an agreement has been definitively reached.

Unless there is a late change in direction, Amoura is expected to continue his Bundesliga career with RB Leipzig in the coming days. The proposed move would allow the 24-year-old to remain in a league he knows well, while giving Leipzig the opportunity to add an Algeria international who has become an important attacking player at Wolfsburg.

Amoura’s current market value is listed at €20m by Transfermarkt. His annual salary is reported to be €4,720,000, equivalent to 3,068,000,000 FCFA.

The forward’s departure would represent a significant loss for Wolfsburg, who are attempting to retain their top scorer. Leipzig, meanwhile, are now the clear frontrunners to secure his services, although the transfer still requires the outstanding negotiations to be settled, followed by the medical examination and formal signing.
