French striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has heaped praise on Olympique Lyon teammate Rayan Cherki, comparing him to German great, Mesut Ozil.
According to Lacazette, Cherki is a special player and has the potential to peak to reach the level of Ozil during his best years.
“Rayan, in everyday life, is a bit special, different and on the pitch, you see that too. This season, he has managed to raise his level,” Alexandre Lacazette said.
The French striker continued, “I would put Özil in a different category but, with time, Rayan can get close to him.”
Rayan Cherki is a France-born midfielder of Algerian descent. This season, he has starred for Olympique Lyon not only in the French Ligue 1 but in the Europa League as well.
Courtesy of his outstanding performances, Cherki has been link with a move to several European top clubs including Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.
It is believed that Lyon are ready to let him go and are confident the versatile forward is ready to make the next step in his career.
