Rasebotja leaves Orlando Pirates to join Siwelele FC in Premiership move
Selaelo Rasebotja has completed a move from Orlando Pirates to Siwelele FC in an all-South African transfer within the Betway Premiership on 6 July 2026. The 25-year-old right midfielder joins the club for an undisclosed fee, with his current market value listed at 100,000.
The transfer ends Rasebotjas two-year spell on the books of Pirates, whom he joined from SuperSport United ahead of the 2024-25 season. During his time in Soweto his market value initially rose to 250,000 by May 2025 before declining to its present figure by June 2026.
Rasebotja, a right-footed wide midfielder, remains in the same division with the switch, as both Orlando Pirates and Siwelele FC compete in the Betway Premiership. The move gives Siwelele FC a player who has been rated as high as 200,000 to 250,000 during the last two seasons and who has experience at two established top-flight clubs.
Born in Mahwelereng in Limpopo on 26 April 2001, Rasebotja came through the Transnet School of Excellence before moving into the SuperSport United system. He stepped up from SuperSport United Reserves to the first team in August 2020, beginning his professional career in the Premiership at the age of 19.
His market value climbed steadily at SuperSport United, rising from 25,000 in early 2021 to 200,000 by mid-2024, reflecting his growing status before the transfer to Orlando Pirates. Subsequent fluctuations have seen that valuation fall over the last year, culminating in the current 100,000 mark.
Rasebotja now continues his Premiership career at Siwelele FC after successive spells with SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.
