Raphinha signs new Barcelona deal as captain’s influence grows

Barcelona have confirmed that captain Raphinha has renewed his contract with the club and will remain at the Catalan side until 2030.

The agreement was announced on the club’s official account on X on Thursday. A video showed the Brazil international alongside Barcelona president Joan Laporta as the club formally confirmed his continued role at the Blaugrana.

Raphinha’s new deal follows an impressive run of form and reflects his growing importance to Hansi Flick’s team. The forward has become a central part of the manager’s plans, contributing goals and assists while also providing leadership within the dressing room.

He has scored 19 goals so far during the 2026-27 season, including 15 in La Liga and four in the Champions League. Across his Barcelona career, Raphinha has found the net 94 times in 190 appearances.

The 29-year-old joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 and initially faced a difficult start at the club. However, his persistence and consistent work have helped him establish himself as one of the team’s leading figures.

Raphinha is now in his fifth season with Barcelona and has progressed to become one of the club’s captains. His performances and influence have strengthened his position within the squad, both on the pitch and away from it.

The renewal ensures Barcelona will retain one of their most important attacking players for the coming years. It also underlines the club’s determination to preserve the core of the squad as they continue competing for domestic and European honours.
