Raphinha sets the pace as Mbappe and Yamal challenge for La Liga scoring prize

The race for La Liga’s Pichichi award is intensifying as the competition moves beyond the first third of the season, with Raphinha, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal establishing themselves at the top of the scoring chart.

Brazilian forward Raphinha leads the standings with 15 goals, despite suffering an injury during the international break. He returned quickly and has continued to make a significant attacking contribution for his side.

Mbappe is second on 12 goals, having strengthened his tally with goals in matches against Sevilla and Barcelona. The France international then scored again against Racing Santander, needing only 11 minutes to open the scoring.

Yamal occupies third place after making a strong return to the contest. The Spain forward scored twice against Deportivo Alaves to take his league total to 10 goals.

That leaves Yamal two goals behind Mbappe, ensuring the 18-year-old remains within striking distance of the leading pair as the battle develops from one round to the next.
