Barcelona have received positive news about captain Raphinha after medical tests confirmed the Brazil international is not suffering from an injury.
Raphinha was substituted before the second half of Brazil’s 4-2 friendly victory over Australia, having scored one of his side’s goals. The problem led to him leaving the national team camp and returning to Barcelona for further assessment.
The 28-year-old underwent medical examinations on Friday morning after arriving back in Spain, with the tests intended to establish the nature of the issue and whether he would miss any matches.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the results were reassuring and showed that Raphinha has no injury. He is therefore expected to be available for Barcelona’s match against Getafe after the current international break.
Barcelona will not issue an official statement because no injury has been diagnosed. However, the club will continue to take precautions when the squad returns to training on Monday.
Raphinha has made eight appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and providing three assists.
Barcelona are top of La Liga with 21 points from seven matches, having won every game so far. Their next fixture is against Getafe on Saturday 10 October in the eighth round of the league.
