Rangers are pushing to bring Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nasser Djiga to Ibrox as part of their summer rebuild.
The 22-year-old joined Wolves from Partizan in January but has struggled for game time, featuring just six times and starting only one Premier League match, a 4-2 defeat to Crystal Palace, where he was subbed off at halftime.
Rangers boss Russell Martin views Djiga as a key target to reinforce the club’s backline and is aiming to secure him on a season-long loan. If the deal goes through, Djiga would become the fourth addition to the squad this transfer window.
Djiga, who cost Wolves nearly €12 million from Red Star Belgrade, is known for his pace and aggressive style, qualities that could make him an instant favourite with the Rangers faithful.
The Glasgow club is hoping a loan stint will benefit both sides, giving Djiga a fresh start and much-needed minutes while shoring up Rangers’ defensive depth ahead of a crucial campaign.
Transfermarkt currently values Djiga at €10 million.
