Rangers Coach Commends Cyriel Dessers’ Progress Amidst Critique

Rangers coach Philippe Clément has witnessed a significant upturn in the performance of Cyriel Dessers since assuming leadership of the Light Blues at Ibrox.

Despite initial challenges establishing himself following a summer move from Italian club Cremonese, the 29-year-old striker has showcased improvement.

Dessers has found the back of the net four times in his last eight league appearances for the Gers, including a remarkable goal in Rangers’ recent 3-2 triumph over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League.

His notable contributions extended to last Sunday, where Dessers played the entire 90 minutes in the Scottish League Cup final. Rangers secured their 24th title with a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.

In the aftermath of this triumph, Coach Clément expressed his thoughts on Dessers’ current form. “I don’t look at transfer windows of the past.

My job is to get the best out of the players who are there. Cyriel Dessers is improving; he scored last weekend and Thursday against Betis.

It’s my job to make choices, with the board, about what we need to do in January to strengthen the core.

I also don’t think that after three months you can say with certainty whether a player is good enough or not,” remarked Clément, as quoted by Rangers Review.

The coach’s endorsement of Dessers’ progress comes amid criticism and scrutiny surrounding the striker’s initial challenges at Ibrox.

The forward’s resilience and recent performances suggest a positive trajectory, with the potential for further contributions to the team’s success.
