Kouko Guehi, the Ivorian midfielder who impressed during the Club World Cup with Raja Casablanca, is eager to seize his opportunity with the Moroccan national team. Despite being overlooked by the technical staff of Ivory Coast, Guehi is determined to give himself a second chance by obtaining Moroccan nationality. He has expressed his fondness for Morocco, referring to it as his second country and expressing his desire to represent the Atlas Lions.
“If I have nationality, it will be a great pleasure to wear the colors of Morocco,” Guehi stated in an interview with El Botola.
At 26 years old, Guehi has never been selected for the Ivorian senior national team. With Morocco set to host the 2015 African Cup of Nations, Guehi’s talent and willingness to represent Morocco could be an asset to the team as they aim to field a competitive squad for the tournament.
