Raja Casablanca has denied signing Ittihad Touarga striker Tawfik Ben Tayeb ahead of the new football season.
A source within Raja’s management categorically denied any agreement with the 23-year-old forward, who spent last season playing in France for Rudy Giroud.
The source clarified that Ben Tayeb has neither signed with the club nor joined their ranks.
However, Raja have officially completed two signings from Ittihad Touarga.
Moaz Dahhak has already been unveiled by the club, while Fouad Zahouani has penned a deal and will link up with the squad following his return from Kenya, where he is currently representing Morocco in the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
As the summer transfer window approaches its final stages, Raja are actively pursuing a foreign striker to bolster their attacking options. The club has now made nine signings in this window.
Among the names previously targeted is Congolese forward Ben Malango, the club’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer.
Raja opened negotiations to bring him back, but talks have stalled due to Malango’s current obligations in the UAE Pro League.
