Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi delivered a standout performance for Viktoria Plzen, scoring twice in a commanding 3-0 victory over Ferencváros in the second leg of their Europa League play-off tie.
The result secured the Czech side’s progression to the last 16 with a 3-1 aggregate win.
Durosinmi, 22, broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a well-taken finish before adding his second just 11 minutes later.
His brace effectively sealed the contest before halftime, with Pavel Sulc also getting on the scoresheet in the 35th minute to put Viktoria Plzen firmly in control.
The Nigerian striker has been a key figure for Plzen this season, and his latest performance further underlined his growing reputation in European football.
His movement and finishing proved too much for the Hungarian side to handle, ensuring Viktoria Plzen’s place in the next round.
Meanwhile, another Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, was also on target in Europa League action.
The Napoli loanee found the net in Galatasaray’s 2-2 home draw against AZ Alkmaar.
However, his goal was not enough to prevent the Turkish club from being eliminated, as AZ Alkmaar advanced with a 6-3 aggregate victory.
With Viktoria Plzen now through to the last 16, Durosinmi will be looking to continue his impressive form as his side aims to make a deep run in the competition.
