FIFA President Sepp Blatter has expressed his anger and condemnation regarding the recent cases of racism in football stadiums, particularly in Spain where players like Pape Kouly Diop have been targeted by fans. Blatter emphasized that he is deeply troubled by the persistence of such acts despite existing control measures.
During his visit to Cameroon for the inauguration of the CAF center of excellence in Mbankomo, Blatter stated that he is not just saddened but also angered by the situation. He stressed the need for more effective measures to combat racism and discrimination in stadiums.
Blatter recommended that stadiums should not be closed but instead suggested measures such as deducting points or relegating teams involved in racist incidents. He emphasized the importance of disciplinary committees taking decisive action, including deducting points from teams, to effectively address racism in football.
