Al-Wakrah are in a pole position to secure the services of Cameroon international Jean-Charles Castelletto in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old defender has spent the past five years with French outfit FC Nantes, having originally joined the club in 2020 from Stade Brestois.
During this time, the centre-back became a Coupe de France winner, helping Nantes to the title in the 2021/22 season.
His outstanding performance over the years has caught the attention of several clubs including Qatari club Al-Wakrah and UAE-based Al Jazira, who are keen to sign the defender this summer.
However, Al-Wakrah are reportedly in a pole position with talks centering on a €3.5m transfer fee, and a four-year contract for the centre-back.
Born in the Parisian suburbs, the centre-back began his career in France playing in the AJ Auxerre youth system before making his full debut for the club in 2013 during a Ligue 2 fixture against Gazélec Ajaccio.
He has made 30 appearances for the Cameroon national team and scored two goals since marking his debut in 2017.
