Qatari giants Al-Sadd have opened official negotiations with Turkish side Fenerbahce over a potential loan move for Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Reports indicate that the Doha-based club is keen on securing the striker’s services on a temporary basis, with an option to make the deal permanent at a later date, although no financial details have been made public.
Fenerbahce are said to have been taken by surprise by the approach from Qatar, as Al-Sadd formally submitted an offer to sign the Moroccan international before the close of the window.
According to a source, the proposal includes a purchase option that would allow Al-Sadd to retain En-Nesyri permanently at the end of the loan spell, but the exact terms remain undisclosed.
En-Nesyri only joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2024 after completing a €20 million move from Sevilla, but he wasted little time making his mark in Turkey. The prolific striker enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, scoring 30 goals across all competitions in his first season with the Istanbul club.
He is currently with Morocco for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
