Qanah strengthen defence with Egypt left-back Mohamed Hany Treka

Egyptian left-back Mohamed Hany Treka has joined Qanah from El Mokawloon on a free transfer, completing his move to the Premier League club on 14 August 2026.

The 27-year-old arrives after three seasons with El Mokawloon, where he established himself as a senior defender following his move from the club’s under-23 side in September 2021. Treka is a naturally left-footed full-back and has represented Qanah FC at national-club level.

Treka’s record includes 27 Premier League appearances, during which he played 1,422 minutes. He also featured six times in the Egypt Cup, three times in the Egyptian League Cup and twice in the relegation play-off, giving him 38 recorded appearances across those competitions.

His move to Qanah marks the latest step in a career that has included spells with Petrojet and Bank El Ahly. Treka joined Petrojet from Mokawloon U23 on loan in January 2020 before returning to his parent club at the end of that season. He then spent part of the following campaign on loan with Bank El Ahly, returning to Mokawloon U23 in August 2021.

The defender subsequently moved into El Mokawoon’s senior setup, and his departure brings his time with the club to an end after five years across its senior and under-23 teams. The transfer history records the switch to Qanah as a free transfer, with no contract end date announced for his new agreement.

Treka’s arrival gives Qanah a defender with experience of league football and domestic cup competition in Egypt. His appearances span four competitions, including top-flight fixtures and relegation play-off matches, while his primary role remains at left-back.

The move was completed on 14 August, with Treka leaving El Mokawloon to join Qanah without a transfer fee.
