Pyramids Football Club faced a setback as they drew against FC Nouadhibou from Mauritania with a score of 2-2 in the final matchday of the group stage of the African Champions League, held on Saturday.
The match took place at the Air Defense Stadium, marking the sixth round of continental championship fixtures.
The visitors took the lead in the 64th minute through Bassam Ahmed, who scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty area that found the net.
Pyramids managed to equalize in the 73rd minute courtesy of a goal by Feston Mayele.
However, Issa M’Bareck restored the lead for FC Nouadhibou in the 82nd minute, before Mayele salvaged a draw for Pyramids in stoppage time.
Pyramids bid farewell to the African Champions League after suffering a defeat against TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a score of 3-1.
