Pyramids SC are reportedly weighing the future of head coach Krunoslav Jurčić following their elimination from the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptian side will not be able to defend their maiden continental crown after suffering defeat to Moroccan club AS FAR Rabat in the quarter-finals before the international break.

With their Champions League campaign over, Pyramids now turn their focus to domestic competitions, where the Egyptian Premier League and the Egypt Cup represent their only remaining chances of silverware this season.

However, pressure is mounting on Jurčić, with former Egypt international and pundit Ahmed Shobeir suggesting that only a league triumph could secure the Croatian’s position.

According to Shobeir, Pyramids are already considering a managerial change if the club fails to clinch the league title, regardless of whether they win the Egypt Cup.

“Pyramids is preparing for the departure of Yurčić at the end of the current season if the Egyptian Premier League title is lost, even if the Egypt Cup is won,” Shobier said, as per Ysscores.

While acknowledging Jurčić’s achievements in both domestic and continental competitions, Shobeir hinted at growing tension within the club.

“With Yurčić, Pyramids Club achieved remarkable championships and results in international and continental tournaments, but there might be a sense of anger and frustration.”

“Pyramids have entered into a crisis with Yurčić because of Everton and the player’s lack of participation in recent times.”

He further noted internal issues involving player selection, specifically referencing Everton, whose limited involvement in recent matches has reportedly caused concern.

“They have asked the coach to play the player in the upcoming matches.”

Pyramids are currently locked in a tight title race, sitting second in the Egyptian Premier League table, level on points with leaders Zamalek.
