Cairo, Egypt – Pyramids FC has officially confirmed the inclusion of two of its premier football players, Veston Maïlly, and Blati Touré, in their respective national squads’ final rosters.

This decision comes in preparation for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament set to kick off on January 13, 2024, and run until February 11, 2024.

Pyramids FC recently secured the bronze medal in the Egyptian Super Cup for Champions held in the United Arab Emirates from December 25 to 28.

According to the official Pyramids FC page, Veston Maïlly has been called up to represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while Blati Touré is set to compete for Burkina Faso in the AFCON 2024 hosted in Ivory Coast.

The AFCON tournament will feature 24 national teams, with Burkina Faso placed in Group D alongside Algeria, Angola, and Mauritania.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo finds itself in Group F, competing against Morocco, Tanzania, and Zambia.

It is noteworthy that Egypt, the record holder with seven AFCON titles, is positioned in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Ghana, and Mozambique.

As the anticipation builds for the AFCON 2024, the inclusion of Pyramids FC talents in their respective national teams adds an extra layer of excitement to the prestigious tournament.
