South African tactician Rhulani Mokwena has emerged as a top candidate to replace Croatian Krunoslav Juric as head coach.
Juric is set to depart the Egyptian outfit despite steering their maiden CAF Champions League success over Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Croatian trainer intends to step down if Pyramids cannot reach an agreement over his future plans at the club.
However, Pyramids have set sights on the former Wydad Casablanca tactician as a possible replacement for Juric.
Not waiting for the Croatian’s official exit, the Egyptian club has already initiated talks with the South African coach, offering him a contract for the upcoming campaign.
Previously, Mokwena was at the helm of Mamelodi Sundowns, and public opinion in South Africa believes that he should return to the team and replace Miguel Cardoso as head coach.
