The Cairo club is set to host New Zealand’s Auckland City on September 14 at the Air Defense Stadium. Victory would send them to Jeddah, where they would meet Saudi side Al-Ahly on September 23 at the Al-Enmaa Stadium.
With the changes, Pyramids will begin their Champions League journey in Kigali on October 1 for the first leg, before welcoming APR to Cairo on October 5 for the return match.
Last season’s triumph was historic, as Pyramids lifted the CAF Champions League trophy for the first time under Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, a moment that raised expectations for their next adventure.
