Pyramids FC have demanded an immediate halt to the Egyptian Premier League until their urgent legal appeal is settled by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The club is challenging recent decisions related to the controversial match between Zamalek and Al Ahly.
The chaos began when Al Ahly refused to play Zamalek on March 11, protesting the appointment of foreign referees. As a result, the Competitions Committee handed Zamalek a 3-0 win and deducted three points from Al Ahly. However, the Association of Clubs later overturned the points deduction, sparking outrage from Pyramids and others.
The EFA Appeals Committee upheld the revised decision, rejecting protests from Al Ahly, Pyramids, and Zamalek. In response, Pyramids escalated the matter, filing a solo appeal with CAS to strengthen their case.
A club source confirmed the move to Kooora, noting it avoids any legal confusion by separating their claim from Zamalek’s. While the clubs remain in contact, Pyramids believe a league freeze is the only fair path until the international court delivers its verdict.
