Pyramids FC coach Krunoslav Jurcic calls Champions League final run a miracle worth fighting for
Krunoslav Jurcic believes something extraordinary is unfolding at Pyramids FC.
As they prepare to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final first leg on Saturday in Pretoria, the coach sees more than just a football match, he sees a rare achievement.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Jurcic hailed his side’s rise to continental prominence, calling it a miracle. Just seven years after the club’s founding, Pyramids have reached the final of Africa’s top competition in only their second attempt.
“Pyramids reaching the final of the African Champions League less than seven years after the club was founded is a reward for the players, the coaching staff, and everyone who works at this club for the incredible effort put in.”
Jurcic called the clash against Sundowns the toughest test of his career but backed his squad, praising the mix of youth and experience.
Pyramids are also juggling a packed calendar, three finals in 10 days. Still, Jurcic remains upbeat: “We believe in ourselves and our ability to win the African Champions League.”
