The head coach of Pyramids FC, Krunoslav Jurcic, has slammed the leaders of football in Egypt over what he describes as a lack of support in the team’s CAF Champions League campaign.
Pyramids FC played the first leg of the Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, May 24, and will face off with Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League title-deciding fixture on Wednesday, May 28.
Three days later, the club will have to prepare to host Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final.
With the fixture congestion, Coach Krunoslav Jurcic has accused the Egyptian FA of failing to support Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League campaign.
“Pyramids FC does not receive any support from anyone in Egypt and is fighting alone in various tournaments, despite representing the country in the most important tournament on the continent,” the coach bemoaned.
Coach Krunoslav Jurcic added, “In just 48 hours, we have to head to Ismailia for a crucial league match against Ceramica that will determine the league champion. The starting lineups must play in this match, given its importance. It would have been better to support Pyramids in the continental final so they can secure the title for Egypt.”
Despite these concerns, Coach Krunoslav Jurcic has assured fans that he will work hard with his team to win the CAF Champions League.
The second leg of the final against Mamelodi Sundowns is scheduled to be played on June 1 at the Air Defense Stadium.
