PSV Eindhoven have announced the capture of teenage midfielder Sol Sidibe from English Championship club Stoke City, bolstering their ranks with a promising addition ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Sidibe, who was born in Paris and is of Malian descent, has signed a five-year contract with the Dutch Eredivisie giants.
The 18-year-old, who has represented England at youth level, is expected to initially feature for Jong PSV, the club’s reserve side competing in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football.
Speaking to the club’s official website following the announcement, Sidibe expressed his delight at the move and outlined his ambitions with the club.
“I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time,” he said. “It is an honor to be at this club and I look forward to being on the pitch soon. PSV felt like the logical choice for me because here I get all the handles to develop myself further. And the facilities are really excellent.”
Sidibe described himself as a hardworking, creative midfielder with a strong technical base and an appetite for pressing and ball recovery.
“I am a technical player who can create chances,” he added. “I like to have the ball at foot, but I don’t shy away from hard work: I sprint, put pressure and try to recapture the ball as quickly as possible for the team.”
PSV’s latest acquisition comes as part of a broader strategy to invest in emerging talent, with Sidibe viewed as a long-term prospect capable of progressing into the senior squad.
