Marco Verratti addressed the recent struggles of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury. With two consecutive defeats, PSG faced its toughest week of the season, starting with an unexpected elimination from Chelsea followed by a narrow loss to Olympique Lyonnais. Laurent Blanc, the PSG coach, came under scrutiny as a result.
However, Verratti defended Blanc, stating that questioning the coach’s role after such defeats is normal. He emphasized that football can be unpredictable, and if PSG had scored a goal in the 94th minute at Stamford Bridge, they would have been praised instead. Verratti stressed that while the coach often bears the brunt of criticism in such situations, the players also share responsibility for the team’s performance. He admitted that PSG did not play their best match against Chelsea, indicating that everyone, including the players, must take responsibility.
