PSG turn down chance to sign Nigeria star Victor Osimhen
Frecnh giants, Paris Saint Germain have turned down the chance to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window.
Currently, Bayern Munich are leading the chase for the signature of the enterprising attacker. The Bundesliga champions are reportedly planning for a post-Harry Kane era, and manager Vincent Kompany has given the green light for the Nigerian international to be a key target.
Bayern view Osimhen’s pace, finishing ability, and experience in Europe as ideal to bolster their attacking options.
Despite the interest from Germany, one high-profile destination is off the table, with PSG opting against the signing of the former Napoli striker. The prohibitive transfer fee, estimated to exceed €150 million, coupled with his reported wage demands of €20 million net per season and coach Luis Enrique’s reluctance to sanction such a deal, has effectively ruled out a move to the Parc des Princes.
Besides, Manchester United F.C., Atletico Madrid, and Juventus F.C, have also not shown concrete interest. Meanwhile, clubs from Saudi Arabia are reportedly pursuing the striker, but Osimhen is said to have little desire to move to the Gulf at this stage of his career.
The forward continues to impress for Galatasaray S.K., scoring 17 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions, including an impressive seven goals in just eight UEFA Champions League matches.
Osimhen’s current form at Galatasaray continues to highlight his status as one of the most in-demand forwards in world football. With the Nigerian international thriving in both domestic and European competitions, the summer transfer window promises to be one of the most intriguing for clubs seeking a proven goal scorer capable of immediately impacting a top European side.
For Galatasaray, keeping Osimhen beyond the season may prove challenging, but for the striker, a carefully considered move could define the next stage of a career that has seen him rise from Serie A with Napoli to a dominant presence in Turkey and the Champions League.
