PSG star Bradley Barcola urges fast start against Chelsea in Champions League

Bradley Barcola says Paris Saint-Germain must seize the initiative early when they host Chelsea in their Champions League last-16 tie in Paris.

The winger explained that the squad quickly moved on from Friday’s domestic game and have been working intensely to be ready for what he calls a “big game”.

“We quickly switched gears with Friday’s match, we worked hard to be ready for this big game. We are ready. We will need to take the lead first because it will be difficult at their place. We will be at home with the support of the fans who will create a fantastic atmosphere. We are counting on them.

Barcola stressed that PSG fully expected a tough draw but insist the group’s mentality remains focused on victory. “We knew it was going to be difficult, but we’re always hungry to win. We are always capable (of transcending ourselves), we’ve already shown it. We all love these kinds of matches.”

With Chelsea awaiting in the return leg in London, Barcola’s message is clear: PSG want to make home advantage count now, before the tie shifts to Stamford Bridge.
