Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing a swap deal to secure Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak during the summer transfer window.
Isak, who has Eritrean heritage and has risen to prominence as one of the Premier League’s top talents, has attracted interest from several elite clubs, making him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.
According to RMC Sport, PSG are planning a players-plus-cash offer to tempt Newcastle into parting ways with the Swedish international.
The proposed deal includes high-profile players such as Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio, all of whom could move to Newcastle as part of the agreement.
Isak, currently valued at £150 million by Newcastle, remains a pivotal figure in Eddie Howe’s squad, but the Magpies are expected to face stiff competition from PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool for his signature.
Both Muani and Asensio, who have struggled to cement their places at PSG and have been loaned out this season, are seen as expendable by the French side, while Ramos could be directly replaced by Isak if the deal is finalized.
PSG’s push for the striker comes amid speculation that Isak may consider leaving Newcastle if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe recently referred to Isak’s contract talks as a “complex situation,” acknowledging the financial constraints imposed by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations.
Meanwhile, PSG, alongside Liverpool and Arsenal, are able to offer Isak higher wages and a stronger chance of competing for trophies.
