PSG took a significant stride towards the Champions League semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. However, the win was marred by the injury suffered by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish striker was substituted shortly after the hour mark due to discomfort in his right thigh, raising concerns about a potential lengthy absence from the pitch. Blaise Matuidi expressed his disappointment over Ibrahimovic’s injury.
“We are saddened by this injury, but we remain hopeful for his speedy recovery,” stated the French international after the match. Matuidi emphasized the team’s desire to deliver a semi-final berth for Ibrahimovic, acknowledging his invaluable contributions throughout the season.
“He has been instrumental for us all year, and it’s only fair that we strive to secure this semi-final spot for him,” Matuidi added.
