Manchester City is reportedly prepared to present Blaise Matuidi with an enticing contract offer in their bid to secure his services. However, the decision ultimately rests with the former Saint-Etienne midfielder, who is currently at the end of his contract with PSG.
Despite interest from other top clubs, Matuidi holds a desire to remain loyal to PSG, the team where he has flourished and attained a high European level. However, negotiations for a contract extension with PSG have hit hurdles, partly due to the allure of City’s offer.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, PSG’s president, is keen to retain Matuidi, but the situation may be complicated by the arrival of Johan Cabaye and potential changes in playing time under manager Laurent Blanc. If Matuidi’s opportunities diminish due to increased competition, it could prompt him to consider a move to Manchester City, where he might find more regular playing time and opportunities to shine.
