The Professional Clubs Association has taken strict disciplinary action following a dramatic round in the Egyptian Premier League’s final stage, especially spotlighting the fiery clash between Al Ahly and Pyramids.
Pyramids players Mohamed Chebbi and Waleed El Karti each received a one-match ban and a EGP 5,000 fine for accumulating three yellow cards. Teammate Mohannad Lashin was also handed a one-match suspension and fined EGP 2,500 for a red card offence.
Tensions between officials escalated, leading to EGP 30,000 fines for Pyramids’ managing director Ahmed Zaher and Al Ahly’s Mohamed Shawky after a sideline altercation. In a separate incident, Pyramids coach Krunislav Jurcic was fined EGP 30,000, while Al Ahly’s Imam Ashour was hit with a EGP 50,000 penalty for a confrontation during stoppage time.
Further sanctions included a EGP 20,000 fine for Mohamed El Shibi and a heavy EGP 100,000 penalty for Al Ahly due to fan misconduct. Other clubs like Zamalek, Enppi, Modern Sport, and Pharco also faced suspensions and fines for infractions ranging from late arrivals to violent conduct.
