Anthony Aubynn, the president of Ghanaian club Medeama SC, commented on his team’s loss to Al Ahly in the Friday evening match at Baba Yara Stadium, as part of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Speaking exclusively to “Al Masry Al Youm,” Aubynn remarked, “We delivered a good game against Al Ahly, the African champions, and I anticipate the Reds to clinch the title this year.”
He continued, expressing his hopes for future cooperation between Al Ahly and Medeama.
Regarding the best player in Al Ahly, he concluded, “Number 22, Emam Ashour.”
Al Ahly exhibited a strong performance, particularly in the second half, where they asserted dominance and created several scoring opportunities that could have widened the lead.
The first half witnessed only two chances for Al Ahly, one converted by Hussein El-Shahat and the other by Mohamed Magdy “Afsha.”
Meanwhile, Medeama’s goalkeeper, Mustapha Shaibu, agilely thwarted numerous attempts by Al Ahly.
