Former Marseille player Loïc Rémy (26 years old) is on the verge of joining the French contingent at Newcastle. Joe Kinnear, the sporting director of the Magpies, shared over the weekend, “I think we are very, very close to an agreement. I believe that on Monday or Tuesday, we will be able to say yes or no, but I am very happy with the way the negotiations are going now.”
After being transferred to QPR in January, the French striker has arrived in Newcastle for a medical examination on Monday, as reported by Sky Sports. If he successfully passes the tests, Rémy will be leaving Queens Park Rangers, a team relegated to the second division. In his stint with the Hoops, Rémy played 14 Premier League matches and scored 6 goals.
Additionally, Joe Kinnear stated his ongoing interest in recruiting the Franco-Senegalese player Bafé Gomis, who is set to depart from Lyon.
