Premier League giants circle as Algerian star Rayan Aït-Nouri weighs Wolves future

Rayan Aït-Nouri is emerging as one of the Premier League’s hottest transfer prospects this summer following a standout season that has caught the attention of top English clubs.

The Algerian international has delivered a remarkable campaign with Wolverhampton Wanderers, defying expectations for a defender by contributing 11 goal involvements, including four goals and seven assists, in a side that spent much of the season battling against relegation.

His consistent impact down the left flank has elevated his status, with Liverpool and Manchester City now reportedly considering formal moves for the 23-year-old.

Such attacking returns are rare for a left-back in England’s top flight, and Aït-Nouri’s performances have not gone unnoticed. With his current contract due to expire in June 2026, speculation over his future is gathering pace.

According to The Telegraph, both Liverpool and Manchester City are monitoring the situation closely, with Wolves bracing for approaches from the Premier League heavyweights.

Discussions within Liverpool’s recruitment team are said to be ongoing, though the Reds are also looking at alternatives, including Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

Wolves, keen to retain their prized asset, have reportedly tabled a new contract offer to Aït-Nouri that includes a substantial pay rise.

Despite the club’s efforts, sources suggest the Algerian defender is unlikely to accept the new terms, potentially paving the way for a high-profile departure.

With 13 international caps for Algeria, Aït-Nouri has grown into one of the most reliable attacking full-backs in the league.

His energy, pace, and ability to influence matches at both ends of the pitch have made him a valuable asset in a Wolves squad that has often lacked attacking spark.

That he achieved such individual success in a struggling team has only strengthened his case for a move to a more competitive environment.

Wolves are expected to demand in the region of $40 million for his services, a fee that would represent significant value in today’s market, especially for clubs seeking to reinforce their wide defensive options with proven Premier League talent.

For now, Aït-Nouri remains under contract at Molineux, but the summer window promises to be a decisive period in his career.

Whether he stays to lead Wolves into another campaign or joins one of the league’s title contenders, his future will be one of the key storylines of the upcoming transfer period.

As Liverpool and Manchester City prepare for squad reinforcements and with Wolves pushing for an agreement to keep their star defender, all eyes will be on the Algerian international in the weeks ahead.
