Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro has backed Egyptian giants Al Ahly to reach the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly is one of the four African clubs set to compete at this year’s global inter-club competition.
Speaking to ON Sport 1 in an interview, Jose Peseiro said he does not doubt that Al Ahly will be able to compete to make a mark.
“I believe Al Ahly is capable of competing in the Club World Cup. Al Ahly’s hobby has always been to compete for titles, and they may be able to reach the semi-finals. In their match against Porto, they may even win,” the Portuguese tactician said.
Al Ahly have been drawn into Group A in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The Egyptian giants will take on Palmeiras, Inter Miami, and FC Porto during the group stage.
The record CAF Champions League winners will begin their campaign against Inter Miami CF on 15 June at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
