An unconventional study conducted by two British researchers suggests that watching pornographic films before exercise could potentially serve as a performance booster for African players, acting as a kind of talisman. This study draws inspiration from similar research conducted in 1974 and 2010, where it was observed that pornographic content, akin to comic, sports, or violent films, has the capacity to elevate testosterone levels.
Rugby players were the subjects of this experiment, being instructed to watch different types of videos before engaging in weight training at the gym. The findings indicated that those who viewed high-intensity films experienced a notable 10 percent increase in their testosterone levels. The study suggests that athletes who find themselves “stimulated” by joyous or action-packed films tend to be the most successful.
Conversely, exposure to somber images or jokes was associated with a decline in players’ performance. Moreover, an attempt to excessively utilize this method could lead to the loss of calories and, consequently, energy. The study warns that overuse may result in adductor pain.
