Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs confirm starting XIs for Betway Premiership clash

Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs have named their teams for today’s Betway Premiership meeting at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, although the hosts’ starting XI is still listed as TBC.

Rise & Shine are seeking a return to winning form after taking three points from their opening league fixture against Richards Bay. Since then, Polokwane City have suffered two defeats and recorded three draws.

Kaizer Chiefs remain unbeaten in the league, with three victories and two draws from their five matches. A win on Saturday would lift Amakhosi above Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates into second place, with the league champions away on CAF duty.

Recent meetings between the sides have been closely contested. The last three fixtures have produced only one goal, scored when Chiefs secured a 1-0 home victory over Polokwane last season. The other two matches ended 0-0.

Polokwane City’s most recent win against Amakhosi came in December 2024, when they beat Chiefs 2-0 at home.
