Mathias Pogba has suffered a significant setback as the Guinean striker for Crewe Alexandria (competing in the 3rd English division) will be sidelined for 3 to 4 months. This extended absence follows a recent operation on his right knee. The news comes as a shock to Mathias Pogba, who is the brother of Florentin (currently playing for AS Saint-Etienne) and Paul (representing France and playing for Juventus).
“The operation was the right thing to do. He’s been carrying this problem for several months, and we had to find out what’s wrong,” commented Steve Davis, the coach of Crewe Alexandria. Davis acknowledged the disappointment of losing a key goal-scorer due to injury, stating, “You always want your star scorer to play. It’s a great loss, but we have to live with it.”
