The CEO of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup Organizing Committee, Jassim Abdul Aziz Al Jassim, has assured that playing the Arab Cup final on December 18 won’t affect the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking to Moroccan outlet Al-Botola, Al Jassim confirmed that the conclusion of the Arab Cup just three days before the kickoff of AFCON 2025 will not impact Arab or African teams set to compete in the continental tournament, to be hosted in Morocco.
He noted that while the Africa Cup of Nations officially opens on December 21, not all teams will play their opening fixtures immediately.
“Some national teams will play days after the opening match, with the exception of host Morocco,” Al Jassim explained.
He further noted that discussions are ongoing with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to finalise the AFCON schedule.
Al Jassim also revealed plans for an extensive promotional campaign for the Arab Cup, including a proposed trophy tour through several Arab cities in November.
AFCON 2025 is scheduled to run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and will feature 24 participating nations.
