Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang keen on using experience to help Marseille chase trophies during 2025/26 season

Gabon great Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has opened up about his ambition after returning to Olympique Marseille.

Speaking after re-joining the French Ligue 1 club, the striker said he wants to use his experience to help the club during the 2025/26 football season.

“We had a discussion in January to see how things might go. This year it was with Mehdi and Pablo [Longoria], and honestly they didn’t need to convince me. I had watched most of the season — it was a quick process.”

“We talked, of course. He didn’t want me to leave last time, so he has been teasing me since then. The idea now is to bring my experience and play football. I’m someone who is flexible,” Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said.

Aubameyang, 36, has re-joined Olympique Marseille this summer after spending one season in Saudi Arabia with Al-Qadsiah.

He will be expected to play a key role in the Marseille side, which will be keen on competing for the French Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League.
