Philadelphia Union are being linked with a move for Degerfors left-back Philippe Ndinga, with the MLS club reportedly monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation in Sweden.
Ndinga, a right-footed defender who operates primarily at left-back, is currently on the books at Degerfors IF in the Allsvenskan, but fresh reports suggest Philadelphia are exploring the possibility of bringing him to Major League Soccer. The likelihood of the transfer is unclear, with the move carrying a reported probability of “?” at this stage, and no indication yet of whether any formal bid has been lodged.
The Gabon- and Congo-eligible defender is valued at around €200k on Transfermarkt, a figure that would make him a relatively low-cost option for an MLS side seeking to add depth and potential resale value. With no public information on the length of his deal at Degerfors or an expiry date, there remains the future possibility that he could become a free agent, something which may further encourage interest if negotiations with his current club stall.
Born on 3 June 2005 in Libreville and standing at 1.84m, Ndinga has developed through French youth systems before his move to Scandinavia. He previously turned out for Pau FC U19 and USL Dunkerque U19, then stepped up to Valenciennes FC B in France before joining Degerfors IF ahead of the 2025–26 season. That pathway has given him experience in both French youth football and Sweden’s top flight.
Ndinga’s market valuation was last updated in November 2025, reflecting his growing reputation at Degerfors, where he wears the number 39 shirt. Should a switch to Philadelphia materialise, the move would represent a significant change of environment and style of play, and could prove a pivotal step in shaping his career trajectory and raising his profile on both sides of the Atlantic.
