Nigeria winger Peter Olayinka is being linked with a move to APOEL Nicosia as the Cypriot club assess a free transfer for the 30-year-old.

The former Red Star Belgrade and Slavia Prague wide man is currently without a club, and Cypriot First Division side APOEL are reported to be exploring the possibility of adding the experienced left winger to their squad. The probability of the move is listed as unclear (“?”), but his status as a free agent is understood to make him an attainable option for the Nicosia outfit.

Olayinka, born in Ibadan on 16 November 1995, is listed with a market value of €3.50m, a figure that underlines the potential value in any deal that does not require a transfer fee. Having most recently played for Red Star Belgrade before leaving in late 2025, he would arrive in Cyprus with experience across several European leagues.

The Nigeria international has built his career through stints in Albania with FK Bylis and KF Skënderbeu, Belgium with KAA Gent and Zulte Waregem, and the Czech Republic with FK Dukla Prague and SK Slavia Prague, before his move to Serbia. His preferred role is on the left of the attack, cutting in from the flank on his right foot, and he stands at 1.88m, offering a physically imposing presence in wide areas.

No recent competitive match details – including opponents, dates, scorelines or individual performances – are provided in the current data, leaving his immediate match sharpness unclear for any potential suitor.

Should APOEL decide to push ahead, a move to the Cyprus League would mark the latest step in a career that has steadily taken Olayinka across Europe, and it could offer the platform he needs to re-establish his value and reputation at the top end of the continental game.
