Pelé Mboyo, who scored a double for Gantoise against Mons in the Belgian championship, spent the night from Friday to Saturday in police custody. The reason was his refusal to obey police orders during an identity check in the Matonge district of Ixelles. Mboyo allegedly insulted the police, leading to his arrest for rebellion. He was released after being interviewed by a magistrate and went on to play in the match on Saturday evening. The Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrest.
