According to reports from AFP and the daily Folha de Sao Paulo, it is suggested that Pelé underwent surgery on his femur. However, the exact nature of his condition and the reason for hospitalization have not been officially disclosed.
Pelé, whose real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time. He achieved immense success throughout his career, winning three World Cups with Brazil in 1958, 1962, and 1970 and scoring a remarkable 1,281 goals overall. Pelé earned 92 international caps and scored 77 goals for Brazil. He spent the majority of his club career with Santos in Brazil, playing for them from 1956 to 1974 and scoring 589 goals in 605 matches. Pelé also had a brief stint in the United States, playing for the New York Cosmos, where he participated in 56 games and scored 31 times.
