Paul Reverson joins De Graafschap as Ajax goalkeeper moves to the club until 2027
Paul Reverson, the Ghanaian-Dutch goalkeeper, has joined De Graafschap from Ajax U21 on loan until 30 June 2027.
The 21-year-old Amsterdam-born player switches to the Dutch second-tier club for the 2026-27 season, with De Graafschap competing in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. His move was completed on 1 September.
Reverson, who stands 1.94m tall and is right-footed, joins De Graafschap after spending the previous two seasons with Ajax U21. He made the move to Ajax’s development side from Ajax U18 in July 2024, continuing a progression through Dutch youth football.
Before joining Ajax U18, Reverson spent two years with AFC U17 and AFC Youth. He began his development at Ajax Youth before moving to AFC Youth in 2019, returning to the Ajax system four years later.
The goalkeeper’s loan is scheduled to end on 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Ajax U21. The move keeps him within the Netherlands, with both clubs competing in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie during the 2026-27 campaign.
Reverson has Ghanaian and Dutch nationality. His place of birth is Amsterdam, while his listed national club is De Graafschap Doetinchem.
De Graafschap have also been involved in the Eredivisie and UEFA Conference League qualifying during the current campaign, although Reverson’s recorded competition figures remain at zero appearances, minutes and starts at the time of the move.
His arrival gives the club another goalkeeper for the season and represents a temporary step away from Ajax U21 for the player, who joined the Amsterdam side’s youth set-up at an early age. Ajax U18 had previously signed him from AFC U17 on a free transfer in July 2022.
Reverson’s earlier youth career also included Zeeburgia, from whom he moved to Ajax Youth in July 2013. The transfer to De Graafschap is the latest move in a career spent entirely within Dutch football.
The completed loan places Reverson at De Graafschap through 30 June 2027, after which he is scheduled to return to Ajax U21.
