Paul Pogba has signed a two-year contract with AS Monaco after successfully completing his medical, marking a significant step in his return to top-flight football following an 18-month doping ban.
The French international, who has Guinean heritage, is now officially set to resume his career in Ligue 1.
Pogba’s move was confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X that the deal was sealed following the medical and that an official club announcement could come later today.
“Paul Pogba has signed his contract as new AS Monaco player after medical completed, deal sealed,” Romano wrote.
“Official statement could take place already later today. It’s all done. Here we go, confirmed.”
The 32-year-old midfielder had been without a club since parting ways with Juventus, where his second spell was marred by injuries and his eventual suspension.
Pogba, who began his professional career at Manchester United before winning the 2018 World Cup with France, now gets a fresh start in his homeland.
Sky Sports also reported that the medical was completed without any complications and that Pogba has committed to a deal that runs until 2027.
His arrival is expected to add depth and experience to Monaco’s midfield ahead of the 2025–26 campaign, as the club seeks to re-establish itself among the Ligue 1 elite.
